Dr. Roger Theobald, AuD
Doctor of Audiology

Dr. Roger Theobald is a nationally certified and Idaho state-licensed Doctor of Audiology with more than 25 years of experience helping patients improve their hearing and quality of life. He specializes in hearing loss, advanced hearing aid technology, tinnitus management, and personalized hearing solutions.
Dr. Theobald earned his Bachelor’s degree in Communicative Disorders, a Master’s degree in Clinical/Educational Audiology, and a Doctor of Audiology degree from A.T. Still University of Health Sciences in Mesa, Arizona. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (F-AAA).
With a passion for patient education and compassionate care, Dr. Theobald is dedicated to helping individuals find the right hearing solutions and reconnect with the people, activities, and moments that matter most.
Outside of audiology, he enjoys dirt biking, camping, fishing, hunting, golfing, reading, caring for his yard, and playing pickleball.
Tony Johns
Owner, Hearing Instrument Specialist

Born and raised in Utah, Tony graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Management. His career has centered on strategic initiatives focused on patient lifestyle and health improvement, working alongside leading health systems to create meaningful solutions that improve people’s lives.
As the owner of Boise Hears, Tony is passionate about providing a patient-focused hearing care experience built on trust, compassion, and helping people stay connected to the moments that matter most.
Outside the office, Tony enjoys exploring national parks with his wife, Nicole, and their five children. When they aren’t on the trail, they can often be found cheering their kids on from the sidelines.
Grace Gardner
Audiology Technician

Originally from Arizona, Grace Gardner is passionate about helping people reconnect with the sounds and conversations that enrich their lives. Her dedication to hearing healthcare is deeply personal. Growing up with a brother who is hearing impaired gave her firsthand insight into the importance of communication, understanding, and the life-changing impact of hearing care.
Grace’s interest in communication also led her to study American Sign Language (ASL), further strengthening her appreciation for the many ways people connect with one another.
Coming from a family of firefighters and military service members, Grace was raised with a strong commitment to serving others with compassion, integrity, and respect. She is especially passionate about educating patients on hearing loss and helping them understand how hearing aids can improve their quality of life, confidence, and relationships.
Grace is proud to be part of the Boise Hears team.
Jamie Wind
Customer Engagement Manager

Born in Montana and raised in a medical military family, Jamie Wind grew up with a strong appreciation for service, community, and caring for others. Moving frequently throughout her childhood helped shape her ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
Jamie earned her English degree from Trinity Christian College, where she was also a collegiate athlete competing in softball and volleyball. It was during college that she met her husband, John, and together they made Idaho home, where they now own and operate a dairy farm with their family.
As the Customer Engagement Manager at Boise Hears, Jamie brings her passion for relationships, communication, and service to helping patients feel welcomed and connected. She believes in building strong communities and creating meaningful experiences for those around her.
Outside of work, Jamie stays busy raising her five children, who are all involved in sports. She enjoys working out and has found great joy in volunteering, teamwork, and fostering a sense of togetherness and camaraderie.
Makayla Welch
Practice Manager

Idaho has always been home for Makayla. After playing collegiate soccer at Carroll College in Montana, she returned to Boise, earned her MBA from Boise State University, and began her career in healthcare administration.
As Practice Manager at Boise Hears, Makayla is passionate about creating an exceptional patient experience and helping improve lives through better hearing. She finds it incredibly rewarding to see the positive impact hearing care has on patients and their families.
Outside the office, Makayla enjoys hiking, fly fishing, spending time at the lake, and exploring Idaho with her two pups. She also loves competing alongside her dad at the gun range while wearing her SoundGear Phantom hearing protection, reflecting her commitment to protecting hearing both on and off the job.
